Carioto Produce was founded in 1929 by Augustine Carioto. Carioto purchased fruits and vegetables from Menands Regional Markets and sold them to mom & pop stores until the truck was empty each day.
In 1960, Frank Carioto began the second generation of the family business started by the company patriarch Augustine.
Frank increased the company customer base by supplying restaurants as well as the smaller stores his father served so well. In 1969, he built a warehouse facility in Watervliet, New York.
| In 1971, Tony Carioto joined his brother Frank as they continued growing the family business adding large restaurants and food service companies.
In 1991, Anthony and Greg Carioto began Carioto’s third generation and have since expanded the business by supplying national chains, education and healthcare facilities while maintaining their roots of serving the small operator in the tradition of their father and Uncle.
In 2007, the pair built a new 20,000 square foot climate controlled facility and added a full line of seafood to it’s wide array of offerings.
